About The Gallery

MICHELLE THOMAS FINE ART GALLERY + STUDIO, 40 29th Street, San Francisco, California, 94110

Michelle Thomas Fine Art Gallery sits at the intersection of Bernal Heights, Noe Valley, and the Mission in San Francisco. We feature emerging and established artists from around the world in dialogue with Bay Area icons working across media and genres. These artists are meticulous in their technique, compelled to make meaning from chaos and identify the profound in the pedestrian. The Gallery references a global, cosmopolitan heritage alongside Western art and design history—refusing marginality and the deskilled, folk, naive identity often imposed upon creatives from non-Western contexts. Our program flouts neat curatorial categories, with presentations prioritizing rare poetic concerns or marrying dissimilar materials to establish a singular aesthetic. Make an appointment to visit HERE.

Our team brings experience in fine arts program management, exhibition design, communications, and art education from their time at museums including the St Louis Art Museum, MoMA, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Works by presented artists are shown by museums and acquired by major collections including The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, The Columbus Museum, The San Diego Museum of Art, UC Santa Cruz, Crocker Art Museum, Hirshhorn Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
